Aromantic asexual, often shortened to aroace, aro-ace, or aro ace, is a term that refers to a individual who is both aromantic/aro-spec and asexual/ace-spec.[1][2] Aroace can be used for any individual who identifies with both spectrums. For example, an aromantic asexual, an aromantic demisexual, an acespike frayromantic, and a lithromantic greysexual can all be described as aroace.

Some aroace individuals may experience other forms of attraction that are neither romantic nor sexual, such as queerplatonic attraction, alterous attraction, or sensual attraction. If they feel that this attraction is significant enough to warrant a place alongside their aroace orientation, they may identify as oriented aroace or angled aroace.

Flags and Symbols

The most well-known and current aroace flag was created by aroaesflags.[10]

An aroace flag was created by aromagni. Aromagni defined its meanings as: green to represent aromantic individuals and the overall aro community, light green to represent individuals who are on the aromantic spectrum, white to represent solidarity between the aro and ace communities and unity as an aspec community, light purple to represent individuals on the asexual spectrum, purple to represent asexual individuals and the overall ace community.[11]
