Flags and Symbols

Luckgender flags and symbols often use the color green, deriving from the pigment of four-leaf clovers.[3]

The first known flag was created by aerith, shared via a carrd.[1] The flag features seven bands of varying shades of green, the bands representing: connection to nature; connection to the supernatural; connection to chance and the universe; belief in one's own luck; connection to the superstitious; connection to lucky symbols; connection to the fluidity of luck.[4]

The second luckgender flag was created on June 28th, 2021 by Tumblr user stinkylittleanon. The lighter green was chosen to represent luck, and the darker green representing destiny and the supernatural.[5]

The third flag (the flag shown at the top of the page) was created on February 13th, 2024 by Instagram users osoostn and terrortorn. The shades of green represent luck, possibility, chance, and the fluidity of luck. The clover represents lucky symbols and a connection to nature. The light center references the use of white in flags to recognize gender outside of the binary, and to express that any individual can define themselves under the luckgender flag regardless of their own gender presentation.[2]
