Aerogender
Aerogender is a xenogender and a mutogender that changes based on the setting or atmosphere one is in, the Greek prefix aero- meaning air, atmosphere, or aviation.[1][2] These factors can be physical, such as temperature, weather, time of day, time of year, or elevation; or metaphorical, such as one's comfort level, emotions, or surrounding individuals. Aerogender can either be used as a gender itself, an umbrella, or used to describe the fluidity of one's gender(s).
An example of an aerogender is an individual that identifies as a boy when it's winter.
Possible Interpretations
Aerogender is/can be a gender that is:
- affected by temperature, weather, time of day, time of year, elevation, comfort level, emotions, or individuals one is around;
- only present during a certain time of day or year;
- connected to setting and atmosphere.
History
Aerogender was coined by Tumblr user tenderagender on the 21st of July, 2014.[2]
