From LGBTQIA

Hello, World!

Hi! I'm Violet. This page will describe who I am, why I want to contribute to this wiki, and will include sandbox ideas for upcoming contributions. Feel free to say hi or ask me about anything I've contributed to the site.

About Me

I'm a middle-aged nonbinary trans woman from Alberta, Canada. My chronological age is advanced enough that I grew up in a world without Wikipedia, but my "second life" began in August 2023.

I've had many job functions and a number of very different careers over the years, but one common theme is that I've always been passionate about passing on what I've learned and ensuring that others have the knowledge to make informed decisions.

My Personal Flag

Everyone's identity is unique. We continue to create more definitions, descriptors, and labels to incorporate the diversity of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, but no label can completely describe a person's individual identity, orientation, or other characteristics. As such, I've created my own personal flag.

A flag consisting of six horizontal stripes: orange, light orange, yellow, light blue, light pink, bright pink, purple.
My personal pride flag, which combines elements of the lesbian, nonbinary, trans, and pan flags.

From top to bottom, my flag includes two shades of orange from the lesbian pride flag, yellow from the nonbinary flag, light blue and light pink from the transgender flag (slightly modified to be bolder), bright pink from the pansexual flag, and my favorite shade of pure purple, which also represents a stripe on the nonbinary flag. Just as my identity is not set in stone, my flag will change as I refine the colors to best suit my authentic self.

My Contributions

This is the first time I've registered as a contributor to a specialized wiki. As I've learned more about the world, and about myself, equity for all people has become one of my strongest guiding principles. My contributions will include reliable references, and I will strive for the highest writing standard.
