Gay/Queer-Straight Alliance

Gay Liberation Front
The Gay Liberation Front was founded in New York by a number of activists in 1969, directly after the events of the Stonewall Riots.[2] Alongside queer rights, GLF associated with Vietnam War protesters and the Black Panther Party (a Marxist-Leninist black power organisation).[3]
Gay Activists Alliance
The Gay Activists Alliance was created as an offshoot of GLA by 19 members, aiming to concentrate on issues solely related to gay and lesbian political rights.[3] They believed that the GLF's goals were too broad and unfocused, had no consistent course for gay activism, and had no democratically elected leaders.[4]
