Main Umbrella: Identity

Puretécentia (pronounced pew-de-tay-sen-tia) is a term for individuals who are too young to understand their identity, whether it be gender identity, sexuality, romantic orientation, or any other, the French word 'pureté' meaning 'purity', and the Latin word 'centia' meaning 'innocence'.

This term may be used to describe a child or otherwise young individual without expecting them to understand their attraction or gender.

Some examples include:

  • A child who does not understand the concept of gender pushed onto them.
  • A child who lives their life without any presumed roles, or without being aware that gender roles exist.
  • A child who does not understand the concept of pronouns.
  • An innocent- child who does not understand the concept of gender and has crushes regardless.

This term is not a label or identity, rather used as a description for anyone who fits the definition.[1] The term can also be used by/for age regressors, littles in systems, and similar identities.[2]
