Ductuaffectis, or ductuaffectian attraction, is a form of attraction in which one feels an animalistic sense of desire and connection to an individual. This term can be used for one who feels like the dedication, passion, and love they feel is almost pet-like in nature. For example, one may feel a sense of loyalty and love for an individual that they can only describe as being 'like a dog would feel to its owner.'
This term was coined with alterhumans and non-human headmates within systems in mind, however anyone can experience this attraction. This may also be commonly experienced by those who experience species regression, or a neurodivergent individual with strong connection to animals.
History
This term was coined on April 12th of 2021 by FANDOM user Cryptocrew in order to describe their headmate's experiences with her attraction.
The term comes from the Latin words for instinct (ductu) and affection (affectis).
